Frequently Asked Questions:
1. How do I receive my photos?
I will send you a link to a website called Dropbox, where you can download all of your digital files straight to your computer or a storage device. You can also share this link with family and friends for up to one year after the session.
2. How long does it take to get my photos back?
It will generally take 1-2 weeks to get your photos back from a standard session. Wedding or event photos may take 4-6 weeks.
3. Do you have an indoor studio?
Yes! I've converted a room in my home into a studio where I have many different backgrounds and props set up for newborns, babies, and children.
4. When should I schedule my newborn session?
Email me at any point during your pregnancy and let me know your due date. That way I can keep some openings in my schedule during that week. Newborn sessions work best when your baby is 3-14 days old, so once your baby is born we can schedule the session for the appropriate time.
5. Do you deliver every image you shoot?
Nope! I eliminate duplicate images, test shots, out of focus or blurred shots, and images with bad expressions. For example, because I shoot with low apertures, sometimes I may take a few extra shots to make sure I have the perfect focus. After the session I zoom into each image to select the ones with the sharpest focus. In another example, candid laughs and emotional expressions are some of the best images from the day, but they can also yield some unflattering facial expressions. I might snap a few extra shots of any of these moments to make sure I have a great shot. With my expertise of processing thousands of images each year, I may eliminate ones that I feel are duplicates and only deliver the best shots.
6. How far in advance should I book a session?
You can book up to a year in advance. Booking early gives you a better chance of getting the session you want when you want it. Keep it mind though, that if you schedule a session with me, you are committing to actually showing up. I'm reserving that time just for you and may turn down other clients wanting that spot, not to mention planning my personal life/vacations/time off accordingly. I do require a 50% non-refundable deposit to book sessions.
7. Why should I choose Holly J Greenup Photography?
My focus is on you and your family. I strive to capture your personality and exemplify your favorite qualities and natural beauty in a unique image. I do so by using creative lighting, unique perspectives and compositions, and artistic post-production refining. Being an oil-painter, my photography is strongly influenced by fine-art. All this at a great price!
8. Should I bring any props to the session?
Yes! I strongly encourage you to bring things such as a blanket, baby shoes, a favorite toy, a prop representing a hobby, a chalkboard, a cool chair, birthday cake, balloons, and any special item or decor you want to make your photos truly unique. Don't worry though, if you don't have any prop ideas in mind, I can bring some to the session to add some character and activity to the photos.
9. What if it rains the day of my outdoor session?
If you have any weather concerns please email or text message me 1-2 days before the session. I will most likely have the same concerns and email you first to talk about a possible reschedule date. If we can't tell exactly how the weather will be for your session the day before then we can play it by ear and decide the morning of.
10. Do you have gift certificates?
Yes! Email me to request a gift certificate. You can pick it up from me and then deliver it to the recipient or I can give you a digital copy you can send them!
11. Do you sell prints?
I don't have the time or resources to offer prints currently, but I can offer tips on where and how you can print the digital files you receive from me.
12. What if I lose my images?
You will receive a link on a website called Dropbox with your digital files. I will keep that link active for one year. Once I have sent you the link, I am not responsible for keeping a backup of your files.
13. What form of payment do you take?
I take cash, check, Venmo, Chime, Paypal, and can now accept credit or debit cards. If writing a check, I will not start the editing process until the check clears.
14. Do you require a $ deposit to schedule a session?
I do require a 50% deposit to reserve a photo session.
15. Do you offer any discounts or coupons?
Yes! If you write a review of my business on google or refer a friend that schedules a session you will receive a 10% discount on your next session! A couple times per year I will post coupons and specials on my Facebook page, so click here to follow me and not miss out on any great deals!
